I have been begging County Transit to abandon Transit TV for years. It is a noisy intrusion on a quiet ride. It offers scams to unwitting citizens. It was a blight on the Milwaukee scene - as if we were too cheap to provide our passengers with a quality ride - we had to infuse the bus with the worst of television and AM radio ("operators are standing by...").  It appears to have died at the hands of the Market. Thank heavens for the hand of the market. (never thought I could ever say those words.)

No one at Transit wanted to step forward and say the truth: this noisy nuisance was deterring the efforts to get passengers who can choose to ride the bus.  Let peace reign. Death to scavengers is good. Mercy killing is not always wrong.

Doing some research on LA'S metro system and found this.  Transit TV annoyed me to no end.  The ride would start quietly at 7am, and by 7:01am and 30 seconds, the whole bus was filled with this very LOUD noise coming from that screen.  I was thankful to have an IPOD on my so that I could drown out the sound.  Had no idea it was up in Wisconsin too!  I see television screens at the gym, in elevators, and at the checkout stand at the grocery store!  Thank God the bus ones are gone.

A second "good riddance"!

I hate Transit TV! The sooner that noise stops, the better!

Hurrah! And good riddance!

The first time I heard of Transit TV was when a friend of mine called me on his cell phone while he on the bus. He was talking as normal, when all of a sudden, I couldn't hear him under this barrage of noise! "What on earth was that?" I asked. Turns out it was the accursed Transit TV... which is, or was, still blabbing a decade later. I hope it goes away as well.
