Uppity Wisconsin

Since Nov. 4 is quickly arriving, I want to bring up 2 things:

1. Michael Leon made a suggestion this morning that sounds like an interesting idea to me. So I'm going to spread it around -

We'd like to ask any progressives who want to do so to write a piece for an Uppity Wisconsin section to be called "Obama's Way Forward". This will be a place for you to articulate what you think should be President Elect Obama's top priorities at the beginning of his term. As Michael suggested: The proposed priorities could be composed of legislative, administrative, diplomatic initiatives and presidential communications made directly with the American people whose Constitution President-elect Obama will take an oath to protect, serve and defend. Please try to keep these down to 200-400 words.

You can submit them by:

a. Writing them as a normal blog entry on Uppity Wisconsin, and using the new "section" category on the blogs to put it in the "Obama's Way Forward" section.

b. Emailing them to me - shansonuppitywis [dot] org Either way - get 'em in by Nov. 3. If you email them in I'll post them as soon as I get a chance. Carrier pigeon, fax, etc. are not options.

2. I'd like to set up a joint "coveritlive" session for the election. This will let you get a chance to weigh in on a live interactive session for the election. I'd like to make some other people co-anchors for this, because I'd like to get other people in there, and because I just can't sit in front of my computer all night without going nuts. I'll try to pull together some entertaining/serious videos, etc. for this as well . If you're interested in joining in these festivities let me know.

I REALLY wanted to do this from the Democratic Convention, but my ethernet line at the convention was really heavily firewalled, and this is one of many things that we were planning to do that didn't work out.

3. If you have any other interesting/entertaining ideas for things we could do on election night, ship 'em off to me. Also - if you have any way to produce any video, etc. for election night, I'd LOVE to see that. Thanks, as always. Steve
